Need more info on this Nutribac

Rimstan Jul 02, 2003 10:52 AM

I was told several post down that this could help my beardie stop sleeping so much. That maybe when he was treated for parasites it killed off some of his benifical digestive tract bacteria.

I was told Nutribac would help him regain it.. where can I purchase this and how long would I need to feed it to him until I know he is safe now?

You can go to any pharmacy or wal-mart to get a digestive tract supplement. Wal-Mart sells Rexall Acidophilus Blend. They are capsules so inside is powder. This makes it easy to dust prey or salad. Main ingredients are Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium animalis bb-12. For my dragons after being treated with meds I dust thier food for tree days straight with 1 capsule then 1 week later I do it one more time. This has worked in the past for me. I would also double check the temps, but I'm sure that was most likely told to you already. Good Luck

What parasites was he treated for?

If it was coccidia, and he was treaded with Albon, you might want to read this and print a copy off to take to your vet's next time you see him.

Yellow Fungus - Cause & Effects

Up until recently, we've been treating ours with the Essential Probiotics from Nature Zone, mixed with a couple of other supplements.

We recently found a product called "AcidophiLiz", which contains all the things we were mixing together ourselves. It comes in liquid form an has an eye-dropper built into the cap for feeding.

The Nutribac & Probiotics you can sprinkle on their veggies & crickets, but if they're not eating too good, they're not getting all the supplements they need. Most dragons, even if not eating great, will take liquids from a dropper though, so it might be something you want to look into.
