I have to say, I just recently purchased a baby western Hognose (I still have yet to post a pic, but I will). With only a few weeks having him I have to say he is by far the smartest snake with some unique personality I've ever owned. First of all, My girl hates snakes, whenever she comes over she can't resist him. She actually holds him lol!! I'm like "hey why don't you two get a cave together or something" lol. Also whenever I come home, and sit down at my desk he'll poke his head outside his cave and just stare at me. I was wondering if anyone else out there in hoggie world has some interesting stories you may want to share about your hognose? I would like to hear them!! Cheers!

Yes my lady also fancies the company of the western hog. She likes the face and prefers them to the ones that "move too fast". lol

Yeah, two of my female housemates hate my other herps (the Bearded Dragon and Ball Python) and the one just generally hates animals. However, they love my baby hognose. The one who hates animals is actually considering getting one.
I've found it interesting that, when I take my baby hognose out of my room, the guys are the ones who are terrified of her. They don't screech or anything, but they won't go near her and they're highly nervous around her, but they're okay with my 4' ball python.
No offense to boys, I'm sure this is just those special small liberal arts school boys.
