Wow to add insult to injury the one baby was fully striped from the neck to the tail no breaks just 1 solid stripe isnt that the way it always goes?

I am sorry this happened too you!I am glad you posted this though,It kinda gets me ready for what I may be looking at her in the next 3 weeks! My girl is almost at 60 days an I dont even think about moving her!I am half afraid to even mist her for humidity because she blows up like a balloon an I know she do't like it but I have to keep her misted because I know 40% humidity isnt any good for her an I have actually seen it dop to 35% so I wait till the last minute to mist her but at that point I have no choice but too mist!Is their an easier way can I just pour some water in their to raise the humidity without misting right on her?Well once again I am sorry for your loss of babies! Thanks Eric[Hypoboa]Heres my abberant female that is 60 days, sorry I dont have a better picture of her!

Well, there's several ways to achieve higher humidity levels in your cage. Looks like she's in an aquarium...if using a screen lid, cover parts of it with plastic to help keep humidity inside the cage. You can also use a larger water bowl, provide a humid hide area, move water bowl closer to the heat source, mist just the sides, bottom, and top of cage around her. The water doesn't have to hit her directly to affect the humidity of the cage. Invest in a cheap room humidifier, probably around 30 bucks on average. You'll have to fill it often, but this will raise the humidity level in the room, which should help the situation inside your cages. I'm not sure where your located exactly, but winters here can get pretty dry, especially when you start running heaters in the snake room. Hopefully you'll get a little better results when your female drops. I thought of your female when I saw his post to begin with. They seem pretty similar. Take care

Yes she is in an aquarium,an I do have the top completely sealed off except where the incadesent light sits but since I started using the electric heater, well my humidity went out the door!I just dont want her to slug out on me an I know the mist definatley annows her! Thanks for the info though,I'll definatley try aiming the mist elsewhere! Thanks Eric![Hypoboa]

Bad litters are definitely a downer, but if you learned something from the experience, then atleast it's not a total loss. Also if you learned anything I know I'd love to hear it as the more you know......well, you know how the T.V. commercial goes-LOL! Anything stick out to you? Male not left in long enough, temps. too high or too low during gestation. Was she fed during gestation, and if so, how much and how often? Was there any cycling done for the female or the male prior to introduction. Any outside stress factors you can think of, or as far as you know, was everything as expected? Definitely any insight you might have to why this was the outcome would be appreciated, and everyone could learn from it. Either way, I hope the rest of your season goes alot better for you. Take care

Well paul i was kinda expecting this hopeing against it but expecting it. both the male and the female were cooled at 74 degrees from April 1st- june 1styeah i know way to late in the year but i wanted to see if it was true that boas could produce anytime of the year i fed them all throughout june and mid july when i introduced them the male went right to courting heavily but i only saw one instance of penetration in mid aug after wich the male just lost interest she ovulated sept 1st and had her pos sept 16th she did eat several times for me at about once a month intervals the last time being yesterday ( i med rat) i had my doubts about this litter because she did not grow at all if anything she seemed to get smaller i dont really beleive that it was anything done wrong with the exception of cooling and introduceing them too late or early in the season i believe it was more a factor of useing a young male that lost interest to early but naturally any and all imput would be apreceated

I know you are heartbroken, especially since the one baby had a body stripe. The female looks in good condition, though. Best wishes for her next litter.
