Crested gecko mistake

mcbasspro Dec 09, 2004 11:45 AM

wow
im an idiot.
one of the females had her eggs today and i had nothing for her to lay in so
they died. the thing is that she weighed 38.8g's and looked like a male so i didnt set anything up for her. now that i look at her after she has laid she looks like a female 100% i think the eggs were pushing out near her pre anal pores and it made it look like she had male parts. she had a large hemaphelial bulge.

i feel like an idiot, but this was my first try at breeding.
i have 2 males and 5 females. so its a 1.4 and a 1.0.0 the other male is just an extra.

my qestion is,

should i put my 20 gram male who is a male for sure with the 38.8 female?
how long should i let her cool off before i introcude him to her?
thanks
marco

NO, I would wait until they are relatively the same weight.

I would probably wait untill their weights are within 25% of each other. Twice the size is definately too big
