"Kinked"

djsixnine Dec 09, 2004 01:43 PM

I recently recieved a ball python. The owner told me it has a kink. The kink he is referring to is a small bump on the spine near the tail. Has anyone had experience with this? Will this affect the long term health of the snake? Is this trait inheritable? She is otherwise a beautiful snake and I would like to see her grow up.

Some caramel albino's are reported to have a kink near the tail. This is known to be genetic and can be easily bred out per my conversation with Morph King Reptiles.

Unless you breed your animal, there's not way to determine if it's genetic or not.
