It's either patternless or not. Your specimen is more of a blotched type that will probably look patternless as it ages depending on how the dark blotches lighten. As for the mutt comment, Apalachicola Kings do intergrade with Easterns resulting in many variable patterns. But they have nothing to do with Florida Kings.
mutt ? who knows? its been documented as its own ssp. since the 50's i beleive,probably earlier(break out the books ya'll

all the reduced pattern or patternless goini ive seen have been males is this a sexual dimorphism or have you seen this pattern in females,though i have seen reg red pattern males.Chris
