Mealworm feeding question

sony781 Dec 09, 2004 04:49 PM

Im trying to get my gecko to eat mealworms but they keep on getting out of the cap that i put them in (apple juice cap). what is something that i could use to put them in that they wont get out of? will the bottom of a plastic cup work or will that hurt my gecko?

Mealies can climb pretty well. How old are your leos? If thye are adults then i would use a small plastic crock bowl. you can find these in the small animal section of your local petstore.

Heh...do you have any of those white mealworm containers that Timberline sells their mealworms in? I just cut off the lip and make them into small bowls for my leos mealworms (be sure the edges are smooth so your leo won't cut himself)...if you have any of them lying around they make good containers...just put a rock on the outside of the container if your leo is to small to get to the mealies. They're basically really cheap bowls...

Hey i use soya sauce dishes, you can get them at stores for 75 cents, they are smooth so mealies have a harder time getting out but they are shallow enough so leos should be able to figure them out
