Parazap Question........

MultipleMorphHerps Dec 09, 2004 06:27 PM

Hey everyone, as you know if you read my last post, my iguana has been getting skinny. Someone suggested he may have worms considering he is very active and eats like a monster still. I've up'd his feeding and took a fecal to the vet to see if he has anything and what it might be. Well when they get back to me with the results, and they are posotive for parasites, I am going to start him on parazap. It is all natural for snakes, lizards, dogs, etc.

I know people that have used it and it supposibly works. Has anyone here used it? If it doesn't work in a week or two he's going back to the vet to get a perscription.

I have been using it for a week and a half now. A few of my dragons were tested positive for parasites. The vet gave them a de-wormer, then I started them on the Parazap. I have noticed a great differance in them since using it. Their appetite is much stronger and their colors have improved. It looks like they just plain out feel better. The directions say to treat parasites use it every day for two weeks. Depending on how bad it is, I would probably get a de-wormer from the vet. It isn't that expensive. Since they already tested for it, just ask the vet for the medication. Don't make an appointment--save yourself some money. I think most vets will let you do this.

If your iguana is that skinny, I would suggest using panacur or a similar medication for parasites. I prefer using parazap as means of keeping healthy reptiles parasite free. If your ig has a protozoan infestation, you will need a different medication, I think.jrbl
