i have calci-sand right now and i have heard that that stuff is not good for the beardies. i would like to know what type of substrate to use. i have reptile litter box wood chips and tell me if that would be ok.

calci-sand & the wood chips can cause impaction if the beardie accidentally ingests them. the best ones you can go with are....
1) paper towel
2) newspaper
3) shelf liner
i hear alfalfa pellets should be okay, but i've never seen anyone on this forum use it. someone correct me if i'm wrong please as i am compiling my own care sheet

you can use washed play sand no finer than #30 if your beardie is sub-adult - adult.
