i use vita-sand for my savannah monitor and i would like to know if that would be ok. i appreciate it

Besides man made sand is not good for them if ingested, it has sharp edges and can block them up if not so healthy. Sand does nothing for them except dehydrate them.
Use dirt, not potting soil, not organic man made soil, not coco peat, sand, peat moss, but real dirt. I used dirt with my ackies (arid dwellers) from a creek bank, then switched my albigs (semi-arid dwellers) to field dirt recently. I even use dirt with my beardies. I mix real play box sand in a small percentage (10 % or less) with dirt in some cages.
