Finger eating snake---Attracted to the smell of soap?

Jabbano Dec 10, 2004 02:36 AM

Now it has only been two days since my cali king ate a large meal of two fuzzies, and he once again proceeded to chomp on my finger. I held him just after coming out of the shower, and I realize now that every time he has tried to eat my fingers--they have smelled strongly of soap rather than my natural scent.

Does this make sense to any of you experts? I've heard some suggestions that I should wash my hands before handling but it seems to have the opposite effect--the soap scent stimulates feeding behavior.
