Apologies & Axanthics

CJBianco Dec 10, 2004 11:40 AM

Okay. I recently stated that I didn't really care for the Axanthics. I thought they looked really cool-a-rooni for a month or so, but then browned out a little on the Normal side. I've since changed my mind. I want one. =)

I've seen a bunch of photos in the last few days, and I'm chalking the "browning out" up to bad photography. True colors seldom show in photos, and any brown substrate can easily create an optical illusion of a more brown snake.

So...my question:

Which line tends to hold the Black/White/Gray/Silver best?

Thanks,
Chris =)

THe VPI Axanthic is the best line of captive bred axanthics out there!! As adults they show less of the browning out. The VPI snow, proof is in the morph!

This is our 03 male VPI axanthic, and he's been breeding up a storm for us this season... And he's keeping is color, no browning out here. Thanks.

Thought we would show you our "Charcoal Axanthics" People at the shows just find these stunning. Can you see this as a "Charcoal Piebald"? This is how some of our line turn out as adults. Very impressive for making contrasting crosses. We think the darker the axanthic the better the white on the snow ball. If you have seen our snow at the shows then you know what I am talking about, it is white. We have a light line as well. I will try to get some pics.

With snows that look like the SK line, why on earth would anyone even mess with the others? SK'ers snow whoops the other 2 lines of snow's a$$es.

Keep up the great work SK.... You guys OWN!

Now I do not have to disturb her and she hates having pictures taken. Never wants to sit still long enough to get the shot. We call her "Snow White" she is awesome. Thanks for posting the pics.

they are awesome snakes. It is one of those snakes that you like more and more once you have them in your collection. I think all the lines of axanthic are way under rated.
I know your original thread dealt with adults but here is a shot of a little barker axanthic. The best way to capture the true colors of an axanthic is to show it off next to other morphs.
TONS OF POTENTIAL!!!!

Red Axanthics hold their colour into adulthood. I need to produce more of these and bring them out to US shows for everyone to see.

He's trying to breed her side in the pic......you'd think by now he'd have the hang of things...lol.

He's a 2001 by the way.

Enjoy,
Corey
