Black Mamba on Kill Bill 2?

tangasnake Dec 10, 2004 11:50 AM

Just curious if anyone else watched the Black Mamba scene on Kill Bill 2. It seems to me that when the snake is initially uncovered by Michael Madsen, it looks more like some kind of racer....yellowish ventral. When it strikes tho, definitely Black Mamba. Anyone know any inside info on how they work their movie magic with venomous snakes? Or is it all CG by now?

if you go there, it says their venomoid mamba is on loan for the movie.

That's definitely a "practical" snake, not CG. I imagine they do it the same way they handled the snakes in Raiders of the Lost Ark where they had a piece of plate glass separating Harrison Ford from the cobra. Also, if I recall, most of the shots of the snake in Kill Bill 2 were low angle, close up shots. Michael Madsen might not have even been in the same room.
Cheers!
