I'm pretty sure that's a Philothamnus ssp.

No idea on the exact species, however.

Really nice!!! Those calicos are wild.

I was going to say smooth green myself, but they're not usually CB nor do they have an eye stripe.

Also there is a very remarkable difference in price between two other, very similar, snakes:

The Rhino Ratsnake Rhyncophis boulengeri I have seen offered for sale many times for $1500,- a pair (CB '04). This seems to be the normal price, so presumably there are enough people out there who are willing to pay this kind of money. On the other hand, a CB '04 pair of Philodryas baroni will not cost you more than $160,- while it actually is not quite as available as the former species and it has very similar looks and requirements.

Isn't that weird? Why are great animals like Philodryas spp. ignored by so many well informed hobbyists?

Greetings,

Herman Bronsgeest.

I agree with you, but is the market to impose the price. A lot of breeders breeds snakes also as an investment, so prefers buy snakes as rhyno at a higher price hoping they will sell the hatchlings at a high price. We colubrids breeders are lucky and only some lampro and heterodon morphs have high prices and euroasian colubrids have generally acceptables prices (1500$ for a pair aren't so much respect the 50000 of a ball python).
I like a lot coxy but i'm waiting their price will go down, I don't think they are worth 1000$ as they aren't difficult to breed, on the other side i'll pay the same money for a pair of beautiful vietnam mandarina.regards
