What do you use for bedding?

Antegy Dec 10, 2004 02:47 PM

Just wondering what people are using for bedding in your milksnake's cages.

Thanks,

We use Sani-Chips and feel they are great.
Link for info on them

Beta-Chips are what I use, that are almost exactly like sani-chips. They are manufactured by NEPCO.

No, not Depends, though that extra absorbency would make clean-up easier...

It depends on the snake. I like the natural look of cypress mulch and bark chips, which is what I use for my black milks. They seem to enjoy burrowing in it, and it holds moisture well so I can easily raise the humidity around shedding time. It's easy to spot clean, too. My Sinaloan is a little pickier... dust from most types of bedding irritates her sinuses, making her weezy and reluctant to feed. She seems to do best on plain ol' newspaper. Not quite as pretty, but at least it comes free in the mail every week.

I've been using Lizard Litter for several months and my Eastern seems to really injoy that. She loves to bury her body and leave her head stick out....

More recently I mixed some bedding because I was running low on both. Then, I liked it so much that I threw in yet a third bedding. The mixture is: aspen, pine and Eco Earth. Yeah, that's right. What the heck. Works great.

I also really like the Eco-Earth alone and similar stuff for my Sinaloans because you can mist a portion of it as needed for added humidity during the drier times of the year.
