I need some help lately my female uro has been very agressive towards the male. I have had the pair for about 3 1/2 years and never seen her act this way. I am afraid that it is affecting the mail he has spots on his tail starting to bleed from her bites and she will not allow him to eat. Please help!

unfortunately i have no idea why she decided to change her mind, but i have heard stories like this before. you are going to have to separate them because the stress could cause more problems for the boy than a wounded tail.
if the wounds are pretty bad then you might have to set the boy up on paper towels until they heal just so your substrate does not irritate them or cause them to become infected.
the only thing that i can think of is to keep them apart and maybe try again in the spring, monitored of course. how big is their cage? perhaps they need some more space?

My pair of uros are in a wooden cage about 3/12 feet long by 2 feet wide. I think they have enough room and they have been together in the same cage going on 4 years. I was wondering if the male might be ill or maybe getting old and she was tryng to show that she was dominate. I have seen this behavior in dogs but only when there was a competetion against other females. I seperated them last night and today the male has not come out of his house. I moved his house a little bit ago but he still has not moved or attemted to eat or bask. ??????

I was wonddering if the male might be ill or maybe even getting old if she would try and act more dominate. I have seen this behavior before in dogs when 2 females one starting to get old and tired and the other female attacking. The thing is this was beween tow females. I swperated them last night and today the male did not come out of his house so I finally moved it and he just layed in one spot for a while he wasn't interested in food or basking. A couple of hours later I put her back in the cage and then I heard her hissing and looded and she was standing up real tall and chasing him around the cage. She bit his leg (he acts submissive by trying to flip on his side) and I couldn't get her to let go and then when she did she tried to chase him again. I took her back out of the cage. I don't know what to do they have been together in this cage for almost 4 years with no problems.

did you get them as babies because i doubt that they are old if they are only 4. you could always take him to the vet if you are concerned. it may just take a few days for him to feel safe again. we were just talking on the collared lizard forum the other day about how scary female lizards can be
