Hopefully it will be genetic. It sounds like there have been some desert ghosts that have that color (if not pattern) at some point and appear to be genetic if not fully understood yet.
What gender is this one? Is it a recent import or does anyone know what it looked like as a hatchling?
Unfortunately there are also a bunch lately that suddenly change to that color with one shed and I'm not convinced those are genetic.
Here is a link to one I'm working with that sort of matches on color but doesn't have the granite thing going on. Maybe some of these will work out.
