Communal hots?

silver_arctic1 Dec 11, 2004 01:01 AM

Just curious, what kind of snakes can be kept communally? Not just vipers, but other hots as well. For example an eyelash viper and a white-lip viper together or a copperhead and a pygmy rattler together? Will they kill and/or eat each other?

It is not advisable to keep more than a pair of hots in the same encloser..... This if both for keeper and animal safty....

I'm not talking about multiple hots in the same enclosure, it's more of different species coexisting...and would they be able to live together or not.

That is even more unadvisable.... All it would take is for one to piss off the other to have either one or both snakes dead..... It is true that most snake are immune to their own venom..... However a bite from a different species will most likely be fatal..... So to answer your question, It is not a good idea.....
