Antaresia maculosa - help to breed, pls...

ohannah Dec 11, 2004 05:23 AM

Hi guys,

I bought a pair of hatchlings Antaresia maculosa in June 2000. I want to breed them this spring 05. Unfortunately, I can hardly get any breeding info on these pythons on the net.

I know I should brumate them now, but for how long, at which temperatures? Can anyone guide me through the process? Or perhaps there is a good care sheet somewhere? Please advise.

Thank you in advance.

I actually tend not to really brumate them, but I think that keeping them separate for a large part of the year and introducing them for breeding seems more key.
Last year I just let them be and the NY Fall and Winter took my room temps down to the mid 70s for a month or so, but they still have their warm end of the enclosures too. I am putting mine together now and until she is obviously gravid. Then I separate them again and they live apart the rest of the year. Last year I got hatchlings mid June.

I don't know what is on smuggled.com, but I live in United Arab Emirates and this site is blocked for reasons unknown to me, so I can not view it.

Thank you.
