will adult T. sirtalis mother eat her own babies

JohnStyner Jul 02, 2003 01:13 PM

I will be away on vaction for several days and will be unable to separate. The pregnant mother is in a 10 gal with another adult. Will the other adult eat the babies.
Thanks

She might. I wouldn't bet against it. To reduce the risk, separate the two adults. If momma decides to start munchin' on them while you are gone, there's not much you can do. Unless you have a friend who is willing to "snakesit" and remove the babies if they are born. Good luck. Duffy

Even if she didn't eat them, she might crush them.
