A snow burm sure would be nice.

Goauld Dec 11, 2004 06:05 PM

About 11 years ago I had a female albino burmese that faded so much as an adult, she almost turned pure white while in shed. She looked like what a snow burm would probably look like. You could barely make out her pattern when she was like this and it was a wierd shade of white while in this state.

Anyway, I was just thinking about how nice a snow burm would look. A real snow burm, not some super faded albino that still has yellow pigment. To me, a certain line of snow balls looks like this, while others appear to be true snows.

If anyone could come across an axanthic burm, rock, or indian then a snow burm could excist. I've heard of an axanthic rock, never seen one for sale though, not sure if they really are out there or not.

All you would have to do is breed the axanthic whatever to the albino burm, breed the babys to each other and hope for the best. As is my understanding anyways, could be wrong.

Oh I know how the genetics work.

I wouldn't want any rock or other python in it though, ever. The same with Indian pythons, I want 100% pure Indian, not anything else no matter how many generations ago it was. Its like the bateaters. The reticxburm is very nice. However as soon as another generation of either python is introduced they start looking too much like that species for my liking. Years ago I knew a guy who bred albino burm/rock crosses. At first he wanted more money for them than the burms, but he had to come down in price eventually. His major selling point was that if you bred them to rocks you'd sooner or later have an albino rock(I disagree). It never really took off. Others have tried it too.

Just my preference.

Never said it would be full blood, but it would be a snow "burm". Closes your going to get to it. I want to snow why axanthic/albino retics aren't out yet.

Snow retic > snow burm.

It's unreal how beautiful albino retics are. For me they blow albino burms away.
