Hi all,
I was wondering how I go about setting up shipping accounts (for reptiles) with Delta Dash, UPS, and FED EX?
Also what is everyone's recommended company to use for shipping lizards and/or snakes?
Thank you

For Delta, complete the application at this link:

In addition to the info you have to provide, they'll also do a site inspection to make sure you're legit.
I think you'll find neither UPS nor FedEx will let you ship snakes, unless they've recently changed their rules. And if you can't mark the box honestly about the contents, then the delivery people don't know what they're handling, so they can be put in danger in hot trucks in summer or cold trucks in winter. Delta on the other hand moves lots of reptiles, has animal rooms at most of its cargo facilities, etc. And I can often ship in the morning and have snakes at their destination in the afternoon, using Delta. Use Delta's DASH service if the shipment has to change planes en route. But because of 9-11 it's not without some paperwork & regulation. Continental will ship snakes for known shippers too, but i don't have a link for getting signed up with them. Call your local Continental Cargo Office and they should be able to tell you.

Yes, Fedex has been signing up special accounts for shippers of live reptiles (including snakes) for about a year now. Mine was one of the first to be accepted. I had to get my packaging approved and sign lots of waivers and wait several weeks, but I finally got it. UPS I beleive, will ship lizards, but why ship them UPS when you can ship your lizards USPS??

UPS will ship lizards without question and the will also ship boxes labled "live harmless Reptiles". (I'm not adviseing anyone to fib) They don't give special handling to anything live or otherwise. Don't rely on the shipper for anything but transportation. You should go back and watch those guys on the dock throw packages around. You'll pack better next time.
