snake in glue-trap...

Silvergrin Dec 12, 2004 11:25 AM

One of my snakes got out recently and was caught in a neighbor's mouse glue-trap. :/ I got the gluetraps off her but she's still sticky all over. Does anyone have any advice as to what to do? Should I just leave her alone till she sheds, or is there some non-toxic solvent that works on glue-trap goo? Is a vet appointment necessary? She doesn't seem injured, aside from the stickiness.

Thanks all.

It depends on the type of glue trap, but this is what i have done. Let the snake soak a bit in warm watter (not hot, warm. You want to get the glue off not hurt the snake). Wile the snake is still in the water gently rub over the gluey area with a soft sponge, going with the scales. I can't garauntee it will work, but it has worked for me many times in the past.

canola/veggie/whatever you have in your panty for cooking oil. rub it with a paper towel and it will get a lot off, and then all should come off with the next shed.
