See the way her skin is wrinkly? That is a sign of dehydration...Get her into a warm soak and give her water from a syringe untill you can get the peialyte..

what does the big lower belly mean?

CheriS Dec 12, 2004 10:23 PM

Well, its not normal, it could be if the dragon was heavy all over, but this one does not appear to be.

If older than 6 months, I would watch her for being gravid. No a dragon goes not have to have a male around to develop eggs.

Also pinworms can cause bloating in the lower belly area and put them off foods. another thing is retaining fluid because the do not filter through the kidneys properly.

Whichever way, I would have a vet at elast check the fecal and do a physical on the dragon.

I don't know if this applies:

But whenever a puppy's or kitten's stomach is bloated like that, it is from a heavy case of worms. I've been working with rescued dogs and cats most of my life, and that's what such a distended tummy implies.

Just my thoughts, anyone else?
