Under Tank Heater On Hot Side Or Cool Side?

Johnstud56 Dec 12, 2004 12:18 PM

If I used a UTH (Under Tank Heater) on the cool side, I could skip using the red bulb at night time right? Or should I put the UTH on the hot side?

Night temps are not all that critical for uros. As long as the temp in the cage does not drop much below 70 then you do not need any additional heating at night. If you are getting down into the 65 range then some additional heating of the area where your uro sleeps is in order. UTH, CHE or red bulb would all work fine for raising the night temps.
