Hi in case anyone still cares, here are my scale counts for my B W and my blue. I'm only posting the signifigant characteristics, those that are criteria for distinguishing T.m from T. t. since those are the two current contenders for latin name for the blues.
B W three year old female T.merianae:
char 01 154
char 02 126
char 05 15
char 10 2
char 13 7
blue two year old male:
char 01 126
char 02 120
char 05 20
char 10 2
char 13 8
Apparently my blue tegu, by scale counts, falls within the merianae category in all counts except the first, scales around midbody, in which his count is lower than merianae but higher than teguixin.
I wonder if anyone has paid attention to the scales above the upper lip scales, and below the labials. My blue only has a few simple ones, whereas my B W has numerous fancy shaped networks of scales there.
Well, maybe the future will shed more light on this topic. I guess everyone is sick of it on the forum for now.
