My first Blood

Rob_Olivier Dec 12, 2004 03:19 PM

After a long time waiting I purchased my first Blood Python today! It is a male from this year. I am very happy with the little boy. In a couple of weeks I am also expecting 2 Borneo STP's (both from 2002).

Appologies for my poor English, I am from the Netherlands.

Hi Rob

Lovely Blood you have there, did you pick him up at the Houten Snakeday?

Rob_Olivier Dec 12, 2004 03:27 PM

Exactly, it was the the only blood overthere. There was also 1.1. Black Blood (very rare overhere) but they where to expensive for me

I picked up an 03 male Borneo at Hamm in september, and also saw some Reds and Blacks, which were all very expensive.
I have never seen a black blood for sale over here in the UK, but
i think next year will be better.

The guy with the Black Bloods was a breeder from the UK I think. However, I do not have his name.

Hey,
Nice blood by the way. I was wondering what the black bloods looked like. Did they have the nice dark heads or the pumpkin or light orange heads, or were they grey colored heads and what was the asking price for them? Thanks!

They had black heads, and the price he asked was euro 650,- for both.

Hi Kevin,

Bloods (Python brongersmai) are indeed not easy to find overhere. With this one I was a bit lucky, I found this young male at a rather large Reptile Show where it was the only brongersmai. To find a female will be more difficult. There was also a pair of Black Bloods (P curtus). These are realy rare in the Netherlands. It was only the second time that I saw them, but they where to expensive for me. Borneo Short-tails (P breitensteini) are less difficult to find although they are still not very popular.

Well it seems I am lucky! Today somebody offered me a female Brongersmai after seeing my pics at a Dutch forum. Females are very hard to get overhere! Let´s hope she in good shepe. The picture looked good!
