Bedding for pacman frog?

I was woundering is it safe to use sand for my pacman frog he is pretty big and I was thinking of using sand but wanted to know if it was bad for them or haardous?

I woudlnt use sand. They dont live in the sand in the wild, use expand a brick. its easier to burrow in and it wont cave in, and it also holds in humidity.

Definitely not. I think the sand may be too abrasive for the frog, not to mention that it is nowhere close to replicating the habitat they are from. I use a Bed-A-Beast (basically a brick of coconut bedding that expands in water) mixed with spagnum moss in a 4-1 ratio or so, kinda depends. My pac loves it

No sand is real bad.. besides it being dry they can swallow it and cause problems.. and if they get low on calcium there just crazy enough to dry to down sand.. its also bad for them to burrow in and bad for there skin... Moss is the best substrate.. at least 2 inches deep
