Lonliness?

I have a Chinese fire belly (cynops orientalis) and I've had her for a month. Well, I've had her in two different types of tanks. 10 gallon to a 4 gallon when it broke. Well, I've noticed that she likes to hide a lot or stay under a dark spot. I haven't read anything about them doing that, so I was wondering is she stressed out because she's the only one in the tank? I can't go out to the store to get another one because of my dad, but I hope I can find her a male soon. I hope to breed her. I havn't seen her eat at all, and I havn't noticed a shortage in what I have in her tank. I suspect she's been eating since I have had her for so long. I hope my little Pyro isn't depressed. I have a slimy salamander as well; in a different tank. I havn't seen her eat either. I hope nothing is wrong with them.

Could you give a description of the tank, and if she is still in a 4 gallon, that is pretty stressful.

Try here first http://www.caudata.org/cc/species/Cynops/C_orientalis.shtml for the orientalis
for the slimy salamander try here http://www.caudata.org/cc/species/Plethodon/P_glutinosus.shtml

If you go to the main page there are several articles on housing tank set up ect.

A four gallon tank as long as it is cycled is fine and they don't get lonely.

No, they won't get lonely, but why not get another? I say "get a slightly bigger tank, and get another", but it is your choice.

Well, my fire belly is in a to gallon tank. 3 inches of water level. Two rocks she can climb on about 4 inches tall (store bought). About 6 aquatic vines (store bought), and about 1 inch of rocks.
My slimy is in a four gallon plastic tank. About 2 inches of topsoil, a piece of bark to go under and a stick. A piece of moss is under the bark, and I have a little cup of water at the end of the tank for her.
I want to get more of each, but I found my Slimy and I can only go every so often to the store for a fire belly. I couldn't find one today and I searched 4 different pet stores.
