Hi my name is cory and ive had my albino ornate horned frog for about 3 weeks now. I was wondering what i should feed it every day and how much. Right now ive been feedeing it 1 pinkie a week.
I wouldn't stick with pinkies as a base diet because they can cause lipid build up and are very fatty. Try a variety of feeder fish (rosy reds, tuffies, mollies), dusted crickets, nightcrawlers, silkworms. An occassional pinky is ok. As far as how much to feed my pacmans bury alot so when they come out I feed them and then they make go back under for a week. Hope I helped a bit.
But he likes to eat everyday. So i need to know how much to feed him every day.
I only feed mine once a week. Sure he'll down six or seven crickets, but he seems happy
Pinks on a usable nutritional basis are pretty equivalent to crickets (when you compare kcals) (See Mader's book, Reptile Medicine and Surgery, the chapter on Nutrition for the exact numbers). The difference is that pinks are "denser" than crickets and it takes about four adult crickets to equal a pink.
Additionally there are plenty of examples of corneal lipidosis originating in anurans that have been fed cricket only diets.

First off how old is your pacman? if its young it really needs to eat more then once a week.. and if its an adult it need more then just a pinky once a week..
He's almost four. I never feed him just a pinkie I will always throw him some crickets. Usually he will eat three crickets and a pinkie then he won't take any more. I like the crickets because it is easy to give him vitamin supplements.
thats a good diet then.. dont suppletment the mouse it can be more harmful then good..
Can you explain this statement?
Ed
supplementing mice with calcium is bad.. should of said calcium sorry..
Okay why is supplementing mice with calcium bad? This is only a problem if the levels of calcium to phosphorous become imbalanced....

When I first got GABBIE he would eat every day,now he hides and only comes out every 1 to 4 days. When she comes out I feed her till she stops eatting (5 to 7 crickets).
