Cameren is a 9 month old female

wimmer98 Dec 12, 2004 07:35 PM

I got her in July and she was the size of my thumb.
Now she is 13 inches long from nose to tale. Cameren had a clutch of 49 eggs about 1 month ago. The eggs were infertile she has not been with a male.
She is a great Chameleon.

Hi!
You have a very beautiful chameleon and a great set up to go with her! Kudos to you!

Wow! that's some serious growing! I know Luna is small (she's a special needs kid) but she is only 6" snout to vent, and she is 1.5 years old!

Cameren looks quite healthy - was the pic taken during her gravid days? She looks nice and round

Hi Lele,
If you dont mind me asking, I was just wondering what kind of "special need" Luna has. I also have a special needs chameleon. He is a adult male veiled. Supposedly, he had MBD when he was a little one, and on top of that when he was a juvenile he had half of his casque torn off by something. I got him when he was an adult, and even though he has had to go through alot, hes a healthy 18 in. and lovin life! Thanks!

The poor guy!!! No, Luna has never had anything like that! I was offered her by anson last year b/c she was tiny for her age (real runt) and about 1/3-1/2 her tail had been chopped off as a hatchling (don't know how) - nothing like having your casque chopped! Anyway, she wanted her to go to someone with no intention of breeding (that would be me) mainly due to her small size. She has, however, laid two infertile clutches of 42 eggs - and she shall remain a virgin (can I say that?). Is your guy 18" s/v??

Different question...what is a cinnamin blue face button quail???? Do you have pix posted???

Hi lele,
This is a long letter, so be prepared. LOL!
Altogehter, My male veiled is about 18-20 in. (Snout to tip of tail) Let me tell you the story behind him. I purchased him from top shelf exotics, and they garenteed that he was in perfect health and satisfaction. But when I received him, he was crammed in a box way to small for his size. I thought about sending him back, becuase not only was he the meanest guy I have ever seen, but I noticed the "Problems" he had. I sent the dealer an email that I would be sending him back, and after bickering back and fourth he agreed to refund my purchase. Just when I was packing the cham up, I lifted him up with my muffin mits (didnt want him to bite me!) and was setting him in the box, and I know that chameleons arent fuzzy and simply adorable (although they are cute!!) but he looked up at me with these eyes that said "please...dont make me go back" and I knew I coulnt send him back. So he stayed with me, now housed in a
3 by 2 by 5 ft. enclosure. He eats like crazy, and now is so tame and gentle that when I open the cage he comes right to me knowing that its time to eat! Kinda cute. Button quails (I have cinnamin blue face button quail) are a type of small, colorful quail that grow to be no bigger than a tennis ball. When they are newborns, they are about the size of your thumbnail. Any way, there are over 18 species of button quial. The one I have are slate gray with dark blue bellies. I never really had a fondness for birds, but when I saw these little cutties I just couldnt resist. They are soooooo adorable, and they eat seeds and mealworms right out of your hand, and follow you arond like you were their mom! Mine are housed in a 200 gal. reptarium, and I have 4 of them. I tried to post some pics, but wasnt succesful. I will try to post some more of my cham and quials in the next week. If you would like to see what button quail look like, just do a search for "button quail" under google images. I know this is an extremely long email, but I think it about covers all the info on my pets! Thanks, Michele

Camreren has a very healthy appetite. She seemed to always be hungery. At her peak feeding days she would eat as many as 20 crickets. And no she is not gravid in that photo, she is just all puffed up acting tuff.
