One more question - Can you have more than one?

wigrl79 Dec 13, 2004 10:27 AM

Can you keep more than one snake in a tank? I will have a 30 Breeder. How much room do they need? Are they territorial? I have done some research, but this forum is more informative.

Thanks!
Mandy

A 30 gallon tank is plenty big for a adult corn snake.
Some people do keep more than one corn snake together.
I do not keep any of my snakes together. I think its best to keep them separate. But if you do keep more than one in a cage, please feed them in a separate container away from the other one.

It is generally not a good idea to keep more than one species in one tank, but it is possible. Rat snakes generally do fine with one or more that are the same size. I suggest keeping the snakes separate to scan for diseases, then putting them together and observing them for a hour or two. Most things happen sooner than later when it comes to two snakes...

Also make sure to feed them separate
