I don't mean to sound like I am freaking out but I kinda am. I have a female beardie that is about four months old. She has been eating well and acting fine. I just walked in to the lizard room and she was dragging her back legs like they were stiff. I picked her up and they went back to the normal position but when I sat her down I could see her toes twitching and I could see the muscles in her legs twitching. I have heard of beardies getting paralized in the back legs becuse of mealworm impactions but she has not had any mealworms. Is there something I can do or will she be alright? I just noticed her front toes twitching also..I am getting her to drink some water now so any advice would be great.

Are you supplementing with calcium with d3 and how often? UVB source/type and how old?

I use Herpcare cricket dust and Rep Cal Phosphorus free calcium with d3. She is about 4 months old and the UVB bulb that I had on her was a little old so I moved her under a newer mercury vapor. Do you think that could be the problem? I got her to drink a good bit of water after posting and she went after some crickets so she can use her legs. She seemed to calm down after that but she seems to be twitching more now. Can I reverse this?

If it were just the hind legs a would think some kind of bowel blockage....but since it's all her toes twitching....leads me to believe calcium deficiency......moving her to the MVB is great.....

You didn't say how often you were giving the repcal calcium.....also, does the herpcare dust have vitamin A in it?

I dust the crickets every couple days and yes the cricket dust does have vitamin A. I disolved a little calcium powder in the water that I gave her earlier and she drank a good bit of it. Do you think she will be alright?

Thanks for all your patience and advice.

It seems to be more in the back legs than the front. What do I do if it is some kind of impaction? Will soaking her work?

What does she eat/size?

What are her temps and how are you measuring them>?

She eats small crickets and greens on alternating days. She has never eaten mealworms. Her basking spot 105-110 degrees and her cool side ranges in the low 80's. I measure her temps with a digital thermometer.

You don't want Vitamin A in her suppliments. Dragons are prone to vitamin A toxicity.

Vitamin A in a no-no.....get rid of that supplement....and since her UVB source was old, and her temps seem fine as well as her food items, and you were only dusting every couple of days with calcium, it very well could be calcium deficiency.....up her dusting to daily.....if the tremors increase or aren't better after a few days under the MVB and the daily dusting a vet visit is in order....
