Heater for a Pond?

grindel311 Dec 13, 2004 01:47 PM

Hi!
I've got two slider and some fish in a 200 gallon pond in Florida. Now that it's getting "cold" here, I hardly ever see my turtles. Should I get some kind of a heater to warm them up? They're used to 70 degrees all the time and now it's getting in the 50's, which is cold to us.

If I need a heater, can someone recommend an affordable one?

Thanks,
Leslie

You should be fine. The water temps will be a bit warmer than the air and sliders can handle the change. Beside it will not stay cold for long. If the water temps dip below 60 degrees though do not feed the the turtles until the water gets warmer.
