My girl had Romaine and green leaf lettuce, red bell pepper, zuccini, green beans, and soaked alfalfa tablets this morning, Tomorrow it will probably be collard greens, green beans, grated sweet potato, and grated parsnip, with a dusting of Miner-All calcium suppliment.

So long as you have a varied diet, few things are totally off limits. Dark, leafy lettuces are fine for occasional use. Again, the key is variety. Check out Kaplan's site.

Maybe you were thinking collards as opposed to kale?

Collards are very good for them but kale should be an OCCASIONAL treat only. High in oxalates & goitrogens.

Here's another great site...

Good luck.

It's all about variety and moderation. One veggie might be high in Vitamin XYZ, but also high in calcium oxilates. Another might be low in oxalates and high in Vitamin ABC but high in goitrogens. Feed a variety from week to week, and your iguana should be OK. Kaplan's website has a list of possible ingredients for a salad. Winter squashes are preferable to carrots, sweet potatoes, or yams, though, for the orange veggie.

I forgot to mentino fruits, too. Those are used in moderation.
