I know this is the rhac forum, but who likes TOKAYS!!

I have recently debating on whether to get a Het. leucistic(spelling???) tokay. Only males are available right now, so i would have to get a normal female and produce 50% hets untill i can get my hands on a female. I was wondering ur thoughts and opinions on this.

I currently have one crested but am going to invest in a few more and start breeding.....lol.... I could call my little "breeding facility" (lol ya right) Good and evil geckos lol. And have like a ying yang sign with the crested being good and the tokay being evil. No one steal my idea!!! haha.

haha, i had this 14" tokay, biggest one i'd ever seen. and it was meaner than crap. my friend let it bite him on the nipple...haha it was terrible. i've never laughed so hard in my entire life.

I keep a CB pair of Tokays for fun. I've raised them up since they were babies. They're quite vocal (and highly entertaining) when I take them out of their cage for cleaning. I don't think I'd want 50 of them, but the pair I have are a lot of fun.

Are vision cages good for tokays? Is the "front door" type of cage practical for tokays? Or do you think a "top accesable cage is better? Hopefully not cause i hate tanks for reptiles lol. How many tokays can i fit in a vision cage that is 28"x24"x24"? I was hoping at least 1.2-1.3. Thanks

John

Also is there anywhere you know that i can get CB tokays? I don't want to get this $300 tokay and then get paracite infested females that will pass them to the male.

300 $? oh my god, does it talk??
they were 10 $ at the reptile show last weekend.

I don't know much about Vision cages...or Tokays to be perfectly honest. My Tokays are in a glass tank that suits them just fine. If I were to get a cage, I wouldn't get one with sliding glass. That could be trouble when your geckos are stuck to the door.

CB Tokays go for around $35-50 each and aren't all that common. They aren't that easy to breed and there aren't a whole lot of people trying to breed them. They also have something like a four or six month incubation. Your best bet is to go to a CBB only show and look for the $35 Tokays. If they're that expensive, they're most likely going to have CB listed on the container as well.
