I've got a veiled chameleon, between 3-4 months old. I want to see if I can feed him greens, kale... that sort of stuff. What kind of greens seem to work best?? And is he still too young to start with the greens?
Thanks for any help

are you keeping any live plants like a ficus tree or a pothos in his cage...if not i recomend gettin some live plants. most of my chams like to munch on the leaves of the plants in their cages.
yes, I have ficus and pothos plants. So far he hasn't eaten any of the leaves yet, or nibbled on them. He did eat one leaf that fell off the ficus by accident because he was trying to catch a cricket that was right next to it. He didn't say if he liked it or not.

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, to discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear...
Mine didn't start eating the plant leaves until about 5 or so months old. Also, mine prefer the hibiscus, as it has buds often & it is a treat for them to eat the flowers. Pothos has a low level of toxicity, so monitor your chams consumption. Some is ok, but if he's chowing-down on the whole plant, I would switch it with something else. Just like a varied insect diet, chams like a varied green diet (at least mine do). I was also told they eat some fruits & veggies, but I have yet to see mine eat the ones I put in there... They def. prefer the live plants... nd sometimes they try the silk ones too.

Your chameleon may be too young to be interested in greens and
such yet. Mine usually start eating them around 6 months of age.
I usually start them off with a thin slice of apple or pear...
they seem to like both of those and once they have the idea that
they can eat things other than insects, you can expand to other
fruits and greens and veggies.
Mine will eat kale and dandelion greens and love red
pepper (diced). Some of them will eat squash, diced
(partially cooked) carrots and (partially cooked) sweet potatoes
and lots of other fruits and veggies.
My females will eat a lot of the leaves of pothos plants
while most of the males just take a nibble here and there.
I also have had the odd veiled that wouldn't touch anything that
didn't move.
