Hi. I have kept snakes in the past but never a "desert" speices. And I was looking into setting up a desert terrarium. Does any one have a good "desert" snake speices or know of one. Please respond.

Sidewinder. Beautiful snakes with an interesting movement pattern. You don't mind going to the hospital if you get bit do you?

jokeing-ness aside, I personally don't know of many desert snakes. Well, not many that can't kill you that is. If you really want a desert set up have you thought about lizards? there are some great desert lizards that are fun, and easy to take care of. Bearded dragons, collard lizards, leapord gekos, sand fish (a type of skink). Aside from the sand fish, wich while are very cool you rarely see, all are easy to keep fun animals. I personally really like leapord gekos. So many color variations, and such a laid back demeanor(sp?)

Desert kingsnakes(L.g.splendida), Mexican Black Kinsnakes(L.g. nigrita), Grey banded kingsnakes (L.alterna) and black & white Cal kinsnakes(L.g.californiae) all make nice desert captives.

Yes But you forgot L.G.Conjuncta and L.G.Natida.
