I was talking with a girl in my class today who told me that around her house the black snakes and copperheads interbreed, meaning she has venomous black rats. I tried to explain that it couldnt happen but she stood firm. Some people.

We have large bullsnakes in central Illinios and a lady at work who breeds rabbits tells me her kid lost a boa ten years ago and it still sneaks into her rabbit hutches and eats her young.I then told her a boa would not survive in sub zero temps 2 months out of the year.She told me it bred with local snakes and it's there offspring eating her rabbits.I told her that was impossible.I did tell her we had 6 foot plus bullsnakes and that was probably her problem.She doesnt believe me.LOL...Paul

She said that when she was younger her parents used to just leave the black rats alone until they started breeding with the copperhead population. She then said they would kill any black rat they saw in case it was a venomous one. I too tried to tell her that they wouldn't breed but she too stood firm.

You're not in North Carolina by any chance are you? That's where my neighbor is from.

hey now before you go off on me, i'm a southerner from panama city florida so yeah everyone from the south dont go off on me - not everyone's a redneck from the south! i'm talking about the people... like my ex g/f's dad and brother in law... i wsa over there one night and they were going to kill a gray rat in their garage i walked out im like wtf are you two doing? her dad goes "that oak snake has interbred with a copperhead! look at the head!" i just looked at him with a "you are really joking, you're not that stupid are you?" type look. I went over picked it up, took it outside. they flipped out. yeah... morons.
