I've always thought this would be an interesting query to pose, both for my own interest and to assuage anyone's concerns about finicky Hogs.
So, seriously, all of the long hunger strikes aside, how many people here have had a Western Hognose Snake die from what can only be summed up as starvation?
In my experience, it just doesn't happen. It's a fundamental mammalian misconception that creatures must be constantly feeding regularly in order to survive. If Hogs give us a hard time with their feeding yet they still grow to reproduce and lead long lives, then wouldn't this be indicative of their natural history and we should all stop worrying? They'll eat when they're hungry...

Anyway, I've rambled - original question: how many of you have had a W. Hognose starve to death (i.e. eat nothing for a prolonged period of time, get visibly emaciated, then die)?

Cheers,
Ryan
