breeding huts?

kevins Dec 14, 2004 12:30 AM

Does anyone use anything other than coconut huts for egg deposition sites? I have a margarine container turned upside down with a hole cut in the side for my auratus (2.1). It seems adequate to me, but being that I've not yet bred them I could be wrong. Of those who keep them, how often does breeding usually take place for your auratus? If they are not breeding, do they take "off-seasons"? To my understanding, they should simply breed when conditions are correct, which remain constant. Thanks for the advice.
Kevin

I'm trying out some Brazil nut husks I got from Black Jungle for my D. castaneoticus. They're attractive, a bit smaller than cocoanut husks.
