NO!!! Please avoid heat rocks at all costs. The heat provided is too uneven and generally to low to warm the animal to necessary levels, but still hot enough where they will spend a long time on them. I have rehabed several snakes with severe burns on their undersides from heat rocks.

Sorry, should have given you some options on what to use. Undertank heat pads on a thermostat work well to provide consistant safe heat, also overhead heat lamps to provide light as well as heat are an inexpensive daytime heat souce. Ceramic overhead emitters can also give consistant even heat. As always you should use a thermometer to check the temps regularly, more often when first setting up to make sure the temps are within a good range for the animal's requirements.
Please, do not use heat rocks! They can be very dangerous and cause burns! Please research other safe ways to provide heat.
