nelson milk tempermeant?

Malays Dec 14, 2004 05:26 PM

Wanted to know about Nelson tempermeant. Is it typical milk tempermeant or a bit easier going? I read Sinolans rather calm thought nelsons might be to.
Dont want another Pueblan type of tempermeant.

Great glad to hear that. I was thinking of getting one but wanted a calmer type of milk and thought this might be it.
Thanks.

As adults, I agree with the other post.. nelsoni are quite calm. As babies though, they can squirm and musk like any milk. Some more than others, but it isn't out of the question. I've had Sinaloans that were real hard to hold as babies turn into very pleasant adults.

Would you say they are one of the calmest milks ?

I have kept in the past pueblans, sinaloan, hondurans, and for a short time I kept some juvenile albino nelsons. Out of all the milks I have kept I would say the nelsons were the most high strung, even more so than the pueblans. The male that I had would thrash around, musk and bite almost everytime he was picked up. But thats just my experience, and these were young milks. They may turnout to be as docile as a corn once they get a little older.

Almost as calm as a corn snake.
I have found this to be the ideal "starter" milksnake.
