Great, I'm glad to hear it. Good luck with her.

If you use carpet how did it get impaction?

jterrapin Dec 15, 2004 06:57 AM

she got it from food. she also has an enlarged colon, which the vet says may be another reason why she has the problems she had. shes on meds to try to get that to go back to its regular size, as well as an antibiotic, and has been taking deworming medication.

good to hear and I hope it recovers well. be sure to keep it on paper towels substrate by itself if there was a incision. do you know what kind of food item caused the impaction? Too large of a food item or just ate to much? any idea.

not sure. the vet just told me there was alot of dried fecal matter in her, so i dont really know. i probably got her too big of food to eat is what happened.
i will be sure to put paper towel in there. she has an incision the length of most of her body, unfortunately. is there anything i can put in there for her to lay on that would be more comfortabl for her than just the carpet? i want her to be as comfortable as she can be right now..

I'd use paper towels for substrate and in it's humid hide. you need to keep as clean as possible and paper towels are cheap and easy to change out.
