I personally love Nikon cameras. I use a Nikon 885 which is basically an outdated version of the Nikon Coolpix 4200 and 5200. They all have a great macro feature which is one of the reasons I went with mine. Nikon also has higher end stuff but it really depends on what you are doing with it. If you are trying to do high resolution prints then the high end stuff is good, if you are using it for web photos and family pictures I think either the 4200 or the 5200 are great mid range cameras. Here is a link to a closeup I did with mine, which is 3.2 megapixel.

It wasn't under great lighting but still came out nice.

What about Canon Cameras. I've got a great digital one...Canon tends to have more pixels therefor picks up more COLOR - doesn't tend to wash out bright colors...but like said before, it depends on what you want to use it for though. In my opinion Canon and Olympus are the two best ones out right now that pick up more colors than others...hey and since its the holidays there's alot of great prices right now too! Good luck!

P.S. Digital cameras tend to be easier to post pics on your computer. Most have the software to download on your computer making it easier to do any alterations to the original pic. Have Fun and Enjoy!
