making another cage...

skater2337 Dec 14, 2004 08:15 PM

this weekend im going to make another cage. my female is just about ready to move into her adult cage and im not happy with the last cage i built for my male, so im planning on making the cage 4(width)x4(height)x2(depth), and using a masonite divider that i can slide down and will physcially and visually divide the 2 cages. does anywone see any problems with this idea? could any pheramones (sp?) stress out the female? suggestions? thanks.

I think it's mainly a visual thing. As long as the chams can't see each other, they should be ok. When you are done, would you mind sharing your plans? I'm looking into building a bigger cage some summer, and since my brand new reptarium is crap, I will need ot house both my chams in new cages.
Anyway, good luck!

You can also use melamine, or a hardboard painted glossy for easier cleaning, and the hardboard is pretty cheap at home depot, or lowes

be careful with glossy however, as the reflections of the chams could stress them. semi-glass maybe?
I'm eagerly awaiting the photos & updates of how things are going. =)

It's paint, there is not a high gloss paint out there that will reflect a cham's image, now plastic may be a little bit differnt, but still safe I'd bet...

Im skater2337's friend, and I'm helping him out with his cage. I drew up the blueprints for him, and i've got them posted.
