Gold or Black and White?

dragonfruit_85 Dec 14, 2004 09:43 PM

What are your opinions, because I think my tegu has quite a bit of gold in him to be black and white. This is a very recent pic of him, most of you have seen it already. I was just thinking of this and thought he looked very gold in color. I suppose it varies from tegu to tegu, just curious on ya'lls thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Gold tegus in the pet trade are just a color morph of the colombian black (and white) tegu.

The golden tegus I have seen have been really golden. If you saw the ones I saw, there was no confusion as to the color. They were gold and black, no white at all. I have only seen a few of the goldens, but by the picture you have I would say yours is a colombian black tegu with some tan/creme that it hasn't outgrown yet. If you have more vivid pictures please post some so we can take a closer look.

I knew that the gold was a color morph, I was just wondering what anyone thought. He was pretty much just black and white when he was young but now he seems to have more gold on him. I'll get some newer better pics soon hopefully.
