New to uros, just got a saharan, questions (and PICS).....

Okay, first off, don't worry, this isn't a "i have no idea what this is or what to do" post .... I've been researching uromastyx for quite a while, and just when I was starting to really think about getting one, a Saharan showed up in the paper (and I've NEVER seen anything but mali's around here)

I've already bought this one (and all it's accessories) but haven't brought it home yet... I took some pictures though, and would like some comments on the overall shape it's in (I think it looks healthy and fit, but this is my first uromastyx, so....)

It's supposed to be around a year old - how long do Saharans take to reach their adult color? And, I know color is usually the best way to sex most uromastyx species, but I'll stick a photo of the vent on here as well - maybe someone out there can give me a guess as to if it's a boy or girl (the petstore that this one originally came from has a larger one with less color right now, I don't know if that might indicate a sex difference, or just individual color variation)

Oh, and here's the 4'x2'x2' cage it will live in when I get it home...

First of all I want say right from the start that these are just guesses. Are you sure its only a year old it looks very big to me, how long is it in total length. Also, your little guys stomach is very colorful for a yearling so i am guessing it is a male. But if the people lied and it is a full grown adult it also might be a female. If it is over 9 inches then it is definatly not a yearling.

Do you mean snout to vent, or snout to tail tip? I didn't actually measure it, but snout to vent would probably be something like 5-6" (just a guess, going off my own photos here). Are there any other physical cues to the sex, besides color?
