Ball won't eat it....can i kill the rat and freeze it??

i just bought a small rat for the second time this week and the other one croaked on me. I dont want to waist this one so can i kill it humanely (i know how to do that) and freeze it? whats the best way to freeze them? regular freezer bag?? i dont want it to stink up my freezer or to contaminate any of the food. i would keep it alive but the thing stinks so bad and i dont have anything to feed it.

any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

Yes. It would be in both you and the snakes best interest if all his food was frozen for a number of health reasons. Also it is easy to keep a supply and not have to run to the store. As far as storage I use ziplock bags. I also put the ziplock in a paper bag to help conseal them visually. Some people think it weird to have dead mice in the freezer. I feel they go well with the dead cows, pigs and chickens. lol. I have never had any health problems and for that matter I have never heard of anyone else. Make sure you buy quality rodents preferably already frozen and I don't think there is much to worry about.
All this is well and good if you can get your snake feeding on frozen thawed. Most will swicth over in time. It's the way to go if possible. Let me know if you have other qustions.
