This is the first of several baby Sonoran Lyre Snakes that are hatching as we speak. This has been a project we've been working on for the last few years and finally our work has culminated in some little babies. To some of you, they might be "only" Lyre snakes but I have wanted to hatch these guys since I first got into breeding snakes more than 13 years ago.
The first four that are completely out of the egg are all between 3.8-4.1 grams. They are so tiny. It'll be a blast trying to get them to eat. My only goal for this clutch is to get at least a couple to feed so I can incorporate them into our pre-existing colony of 3.2. The mother of these babies is axanthic looking...no brown at all.
So now we'll have to see if someday we can prove it genetic or not. Anyway, I figured I'd share my happiness!

Oh, oh!! It's beautiful!! I adore Lyre snakes!

Some are native here in Central California. I don't believe in herping...I think it's wrong to take from nature like that. But, they're so adorable that I keep hoping I'll stumble across one anyway! LOL!

Congrats.

Can't wait to see the little dinks in person. BTW, I finally ended up buying a pinky pump, so if you end up needing to borrow one I guess you'll just need to swing by sometime, check out all the critters.

I have seven sonoran lyre's. Four are small and two are sub adults. I'm going to breed them also. I really like them too.I'm
not sure why.lol I just do. Every one has a different look to
them. And they are all from different localities. I have one that
has a very fadded pattern. Not sure why. Well nice job man.
